Blokus

We bought this new game last week.  To say I'm addicted is a little bit of an understatement.  It reminds me of Tetris.  I love Tetris.  I used to play Tetris so much that when I would close my eyes I would see little square blocks floating around and try to connect them in my head.  And then comes this...




BTW, that one of the games that I won.  I kick ass.  I'm red.

You start with 21 of those little Tetris type pieces.  You start laying them down in the corner and you have to lay all your pieces out corner to corner.  If you go out and lay all 21 of your pieces you are the master blokus(that's me). 

It's probably not healthy, but I can't stop playing.  The good part is that we can play as a family.  Even Jack likes putting his little pieces on the board.

Rock Star

One of my good friends just moved to South Carolina.  She left yesterday.  I miss her already.

She was one of those people that you are automatically drawn too.  She is so friendly and outgoing and funny.  We became really close when she started here, our desks were a foot away from each other.  Then we started carpooling together and that's when it solidified.  We would talk forever about anything and everything.  People in our lives that were crazy, people at work that were crazy.  When we stopped carpooling my drives to and from work were just boring and I had to amuse myself by singing at the top of my lungs again.

She started dating this guy that she met through work.  They dated for 6 months and it ended when he broker her jaw on a trip to Florida.  She had to jump out of the car and run to a gas station to call 911.  She moved away to start fresh and to get away from him.  I hate that she had to leave to feel safe again but I totally get it.  It doesn't make my heart any less sad that she is gone. 

We all went out to a local bar this past weekend to just send her out of Texas right.  I took tons of pictures.  Retarded pictures.  And I made her a little gift to take a piece of us back with her.  Here it is:



This is totally her.  All night long everyone was throwing up the devil horns.  Over on the left, if you can't read it, says "it's never to late to be a rock star".

Ten weeks to healthy in 2010

It technically started on Saturday January 2, 2010 but it was too hard for me to start when our schedule was still so crazy with no school.  So I started today.  I did pretty well if I do say so myself.  One of my coworkers even brought a HUGE tub of homemade cookies today and they sat in front of my desk all day.  I didn't even have a tiny crumb of a broken one.  None at all.  Big props for me, sugar/cookies/sweets are my weakness.

So we'll see how it goes.
