Logan's birthday party

We celebrated Logan's birthday party this past weekend. We have always had a pool party since it's in the middle of summer and HOT. This weekend was no exception...it was a scorcher!! Here's some pics...

30

I have a birthday rapidly approaching. I know it's just a number and there are so many things to be grateful for in my life...and that I only have that many more things to look forward to. But it's still hitting me hard. I think for my birthday I just want to be alone and cry.

Logan's 8th birthday...part 2

So Friday night we took Logan to the Astros game as part of his birthday present. Me and him went to the ballpark early to hang out and walk around. He wanted to go play in the Squeeze Play before the game got started so we headed that way. When we got there, there was a cameraman asking if some of the kids wanted to be "Squeeze Play kids" and get to be in video that would play on the big screen in the park. So he taped Logan running the bases and we got to see him waving and running on the huge tv before the game started! He was sooo excited about that...of course I wasn't ready so I just got video of him running away...and I'm so not blogger educated to add a video to this. So, onto the rest of the night.

He got to eat all his favorite stuff at the ballpark, cheese pizza, popcorn, frozen lemonade and ice cream in a helmet. We got to see Carlos Lee hit a Grand Slam (and some lucky punk in the audience won $25,000 because of it)! During the game they will flash people's names across the jumbotron with messages, like Happy Anniversary/Birthday etc. And then we saw this...

After we were done whooping and hollering for Logan's birthday wishes on the screen, the guy sitting behind us gave Logan $5 for his birthday! See there are still genuinely nice people in this world...

We capped off the night with some fireworks after the game...

We had a lot more fun this weekend and this week I'll be frantically getting stuff ready for Logan's birthday party on Saturday.

Da Wii...

So Logan's birthday party went off without a hitch and lots of fun was had by all. Logan got his Wii from me, Mike, Mom and Dad. And it seemed like almost everyone else got him Wii stuff or money to buy more Wii stuff. So as of now our Wii arsenal includes two remotes, two nunchuks, two wheels and a guitar. We've got Mario Kart, Playground, Super Mario Galaxy and Guitar Hero III to have fun with. And boy have we been having fun. I think Logan's been to bed later than usual everyday this week and then after he goes to bed Mike and I stay up practically all night playing games against each other. It's sooo much fun. Pretty amazing how far technology has come since our days of 2D, pixelated Mario characters.

Since Logan got so much money I didn't think he needed to spend it all, it's kind of ridiculous. So I talked to him about opening a savings account to put his money into. He thought it was a great idea so now my baby has a savings account and is saving for a car. (His words, not mine, I am so not ready for that.) He said he wants a Mini car like Tracey's, he thinks it costs about $200. I guess he still has a lot to learn about the value of money. We are working on that still...lol

Long time no see...

I say I'm going to do better but who knows.

Today I won't talk about Best Buy and my camera debockle because I don't want to get mad again.

How about Logan's upcoming 7th birthday!? I can't believe my baby is going to be 7. I don't think I'm old enough to have a 7 year old! Anyway, I finally talked him into having a Mario themed party so it would all tie into his surprise present...wanna know what it is? I guess you'll have to stay tuned, I'll post some pictures of us playing with it soon. Well, at least if I ever get my camera back. I've been collaberating with a friend at work who is the ultimate Mario/Nintendo guru and she's been a HUGE help in finding pics and ideas that I need for the cake and decorations. Considering how popular Mario and friends are lately, with the introduction of the new Wii you would think that Mario party stuff would be fairly easy to find. No such luck. The only place I've found any party supplies is on ebay and it was soooo outrageous for some paper plates and hats they must be crazy. So I've got lots of graphics and photos of the characters that I'll be playing with in PrintMaster this weekend to print some banners and other decorations. The cake y'all, in my mind it's going to be AWESOME AND AMAZING. We'll see if I can bring it to life to my specifications without tearing all my hair out.

Speaking of cakes, I've got three to make, possibly four in the next two weeks. My kitchen is going to hate me.

More later, thanks for stopping by...
